My daughter, Cassandra, has had the privilege of playing for Coach Darcy. On many occasions, she has emphatically expressed that he’s the best hockey coach she’s ever had and many of her teammates share that feeling. This comes as no surprise to me given the reputation Darcy has established in the hockey community.
Darcy is an excellent communicator. His philosophy is crystal clear to all players, that each of them has an important role to play and no one is more valuable than the other. He treats the team with respect while challenging them to be true to themselves by working as hard and smart as they possibly can. Darcy has a keen mind for the game of hockey and is known for his cerebral approach. From day one, there’s a clear direction for each player and for the team as a whole. I strongly believe that you won’t find a coach that respects the game of hockey more than Darcy Frederick. It’s always about the players and providing them the best experience possible. It’s about them becoming better people while also becoming better hockey players.
